#4 - How To Use Different Layouts - Dashboard Layout – How to Plan Series
In middle school, the new girl in the neighborhood sat with me on the bus. She was around a year younger than I, but the same age as my little brother. On separate occasions, both mentioned they were smitten with each other, so my young romantic heart played matchmaker. That girl would, unfortunately, move again, something she did quite often when she was younger. This broke their hearts, and they vowed to find each other again one day.
Several years later, a chance encounter on MySpace brought them back together. They now have 3 beautiful children and have been married almost 20 years! Their life has been incredible to watch, and I love bragging that I was the one who got them together so long ago, and those sparkles in their eyes are now walking around, and two of them are teenagers!
This woman is more than just my sister-in-law, my sister from another mister; she is truly family. Her mother has even become my second mother. So when I was designing my own planners, I of course asked her if she wanted me to create one for her.
Here is The T Hub and Dashboard layout!
The T Dashboard layout is a weekly view designed to give a quick overview immediately. The left is divided into eight boxes, one for each day of the week, and the eighth box is commonly used for decorations or a notes section. The checklists provided can be labeled into three categories, with ten check box spaces. Underneath are three labeled sticky notes, and below that are two weekly trackers.

Now let us get into those characters I created in the previous post and show you the different ways the sections can be used!
1) Singe Person
The single person in this example is able to track timed events in the days, and expenses in the notes section. They have a home, personal and work checklist. They are tracking their hobby projects, their entertainment and their books. They are also tracking their work schedule and weekly menu in the weekly tacker section.

2) Working College Student
This working college student is able to track their ecommerce store sales on a daily basis, and any of their deadlines. They have their work checklist they can check daily, as well as their routines that they are trying to optimize. They are tracking their progress and to do in the labeled sticky notes section. They are also able to keep track of their working and class times and how long they study.

3) Working Family
This working family really focuses on dinner planning and the shopping list! They are a family of 5 and have lots of appointments to keep track of. Mom and dads schedule is usually the same but they like to keep it visible so everyone knows. They have 3 kids who they are tracking extra activities for, and they track chore zone cleaning areas.

4) Homeschool/SAHM Family
This homeschool is able to keep track of the daily zone cleaning and laundry days. She can keep track of her child’s assignments as well as the weekly memorization. She is also able to keep track of the subjects she wants to cover in her morning basket and her daily chores.

5) Busy Entrepreneur
This busy entrepreneur keeps track of daily meetings. They have their work to do and home to do with an open checklist for anything new within the week that pops up. They like to track the meeting topics so meetings don’t drag on as well as the ending sales goal and if they achieved it. She also keeps a personal weekly mantra to recite on a consistent basis. They track their workouts and their favorite tv shows, the night and time they are on.

This dashboard layout is great for those who don’t have that many main and subcategories, and want to keep their data together and quickly see what needs to be done. I also encourage to look up other dashboard layout planner spreads to get more inspiration for design and data organization.
Have you decided what categories would fit best in this layout for you?
